Correct installation of PVC joinery
The most important feature of windows is their ability to limit heat loss. The wrong installation of a window, can make it lose it’s best property. First, the window is correctly positioned on the wall when it “mounts” the isotherm line of 0 degrees Celsius, namely if:
  • there is an exterior wall without additional insulation (expanded polystyrene, mineral wool, etc..), the window will be positioned in the middle of the wall’s thickness
  • a building’s exterior wall is provided with an additional thermal insulation system, the window will be positioned over additional insulation or as close to it as possible.
Secondly, the peripheral gap between a PVC joinery and the masonry should be as small as possible (usually: 2 … 3 cm) and it is insulated with polyurethane foam.
It also indicated that left frontal gap between carpentry and the exterior is sealed with a material to prevent water intrusion (moisture) in bricklaying and / or foam.
